Name RE: Angry parent

For angry parents that do not understand the movie rating system, you should visit this site for help on what to allow your kids to see. www.mpaa.org/movieratings/index.htm You will notice that Dukes of Hazzard is rated PG-13, you should read what that means. If Becky's only played G movies for your "FAMILY" they would not be able to remain in business, thanks to Hollywood and demand. I believe Becky's does a great job of getting new releases. Don't blame Becky's for what sells and your ignorance on the movie rating system.

What is the possiblity of having a overnight showing of classic drive in moives? Some Roger Corman stuff, or maybe even Plan Nine from Outer Space? These movies were originally made for the B moive market, like the drive in. Holloween weekend maybe? Just a thought.........

I don't find it very appropriate to advertise on this website in the guest book - is there any way the cellulite ad can be removed?

To all those angry parents out there: Everyone needs to realize that others besides children enjoy going to the drive-in. It is not just an enjoyable activity for young children. Young adults especially enjoy this type of activity and tend to have a much different choice when it comes to viewing movies. Beckys should take into consideration the older individuals as well as the young groups who enjoy having a great place to go on the weekends!!! Especially now that they have two screens - they should be a liberty to show movies on one of the screens that are geared toward the older groups (instead of constantly playing PG-13/PG movies). Calm down - you don't like what's showing - don't go - there are more interested parties than just those who can only go to PG-13 films! What about EVERYONE ELSE!!!!!!!!

To Angry PArents- PLease do yourselves and your kids a favor and just stay home the week the Dukes are playing. Although I agree that many outfits in the stores aimed at younger kids are way to revealing, it doesn't mean that my kids need to wear them. I watched DOH growing up and I even had a Daisy Duke Jeep that I used with my barbies. This did not make me want to dress like a tramp. That is because my parents taught me that what is on tv is (I know this may shock you) NOT REAL! It is tv, entertainment and not to be copied at home. If you are teaching your kids what morals and standards you value, they more than likely won't be influenced by the clothing in a movie. They may ask about it, in which case you could have a nice discussion about how nice young ladies dress versus how someone who doesn't respect themselves would dress ( and that doesn't mean that Jessica Simpson doesn't respect herself- she dressed that way as part of her character for the movie!). The problem today is that parents do not want to parent their offspring- they instead want to limit the rights of everyone else so that they can shirk off their parental responsibilites of knowing what their kids are watching, playing, and listening to and making sure that those things are in agreeance with the values and morals of their family. I plan to go see the movie at the DI and am most likely taking along my friend's 10 year old daughter. Because she has been taught right from wrong, she will probably laught at the clothes Daisy wears and call her a hoochie mama or some other term that her and her friends would use for someone who dresses skimpily.

My husband and I have been coming to Becky's for years and LOVE it. We may not love every movie that you chose to show every weekend, but other people may not love the same movies we can't wit to see. If you don't approve of a movie then DON'T GO. Just because you don't want to see it or don't think it's appropriate for your kids don't ruin it for everyone else! To everyone at Becky's....Keep up the great work, we don't every want to see you close because summer just wouldn't be the same!

I've been going to the two drive-ins in this area for as long as I can remember. We try to go at least once a month, but for some odd reason, I just craved the DI more this year. My fiance and I go as often as we can. Two weeks ago we had the honor of introducing Becky's to my brother's fiance who is from Maryland. She's never been to one before and to see how excited she was just made me appreciate the Drive in even more!! Keep up the great work, Becky's! I can't wait to bring my kids here.

You say people are too concerned with the outside appearance rather than what a person is like on the inside. Aren't you being a hypocrite by just focusing on the appearance of Jessica Simpson. Don't take your kids to it, it's that simple. You wouldn't let your daughter wear those clothes, fine, no one is saying that if you see this movie your children will all of a sudden be turned into skin bearing, high heel wearing teenie boppers. Goodness, it's just a movie. For your children's sake, loosen up.

For all of the angry " family oriented" partents out there......lets all face reality alittle bit......1st of all, have you all checked out the clothing that they make for teens now a days????? You can't find a skirt in the jrs section that covers everything up... the clothing that they make now a days is to make your 14 yr. old look like an 18 year old. even though you think your children are angels....guess what...i bet that when they are with their girlfriends, they are sneaking on that little skirt or skin tight tank top that you do not aprove of. Or do you really think that while they are at the mall they are looking for the shorts that go to their knees and just a plain t-shirt. Just because a movie is comming out that the main star dresses a little skimpy, doesn't mean that your daughter will run out and act just like that person. REMEMBER.... it is your job as a parent to instill in your child growing up to respect themselves. So if you don't have enough trust in your child to dress appropriate, then i guess you failed.....NOT THE ENTERTAINMENT BUISNESS! I am very excited to see the Duke's of Hazard.....as a little girl who watched it growing up, i surely turned out to be a great mother to my THREE children.

Drive-ins are really an American tradition that everyone should experince at LEAST once in their life. Its sooo sad that so many drive ins are closing down (The Star Lite). Thanks 4 staying open so many years you've helped make PA a better place. I was wondering if you guys were going to have a nite this summer where you show old movies like you have in the past. If so,may I recomend "Grease". A great movie that even has a scene at the drive-in,it'll bring everyone back to the "good ol days" THANK YOU!!!

There are often movies played that I am not interested in seeing.. for whatever reason it may be but to say it not appropriate for a drive in is just wrong. Becky's cannot please everyone everytime they show a movie. They show what people might want to see. If its not appropriate for children don't bring them.. or check whats on the other screen maybe something is there that is more appropriate. Becky's is doing an fantastic job keeping the joy of drive-ins alive. I personally am planning to see the Dukes of Hazzard and alot of my family is coming along. Keep up the good work!!

Being from Philadelphia, I never seen a drive-in movie until I made the trip to Becky's more than 5 years ago. The drive-in is an experience and is for everyone, even people like me who chose NOT to have a family. So please stop with the drive-in being a family thing. It's for everyone, and for angry parents who don't like seeing Jessica Simpson in a half shirt, i have 3 words for you... "Get A Life". I grew up in the 1980's watching the TV series Dukes of Hazzard and watched Catherine Bach run around in barley anything. Did it turn me to an evil perverted being? Nope. Besides the point, it's the same basic principal as a radio and a TV. If you don't like what you see or hear, turn it off. Don't ruin everyone else's fun just because you're trying to raise perfect children that will end up in therapy by the time they're 17. If you don't like the movies playing at the drive-in, then don't go, stay at home and watch PAX-TV. I hope Becky's doesn't go the entire family route like a drive-in about 15 miles south on Rt.309, which I will not attend anymore because of their new policy.

I am originally from So. Calif. and I loved going to the drive-in as a kid and teeneager. When I moved to PA I was so happy to find Becky's drive-in. It kept me from being so home sick. Nothing lasts forever, as there are very few drive-ins left in Calif. and throughout the US. Becky's keeps the memories alive, and not just for me. And creates new memories for a new generation, my kids! I just wanted to say thank you. You're doing an awesome job and keeping an American tradition alive and well.

WE LOVE BECKY'S! We have three little girls and going to Becky's is something we all look forward to each year. With the shortage of Drive-ins, we feel so fortunate to have one near us. The food is great, the atmosphere is fun and we leave with a night full of happy memories. Keep up the great work.

This is for the angry parents. I have 2 children too. My children are older, in their teens. I drive almost an hour to get to Becky's. I check the website to see what movies are playing. You do not have to go to the drive-ins once a week if the movies are not appropriate for your kids. There were several times last year I wanted to go, and this year as well, but one of the movies was based towards kids, not something my teens would be interested in. Guess what? We didn't go then. The drive-ins are like anything else, they try to cater to everybody, but everybody can not be happy with what is there all the time. Why should my kids not get to go to the drive-ins to see movies they want because you don't think it is right for your kids? And as far as the clothes in the movie, have you kids ever been to a beach? She has more clothes on in the movie than most people wear on the beach or at pools. And to the owners of Becky's, I think you are all doing a great job. I love it when we do get to come up there. Keep upi the wonderful job. We will definitely keep coming back.
